college courses in after school education and youth development
The Connecticut After School Network is pleased to offer stipends of up to $500 for tuition reimbursement to people who are currently employed in an after school program in Connecticut and wish to take college credit-based courses toward the Credential in After School Education, a BA degree with a Concentration in Child and Youth Development or an MA degree in Out-of-School Leadership or an after school specific course.
Courses must be taken at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Only one course per person per term will be eligible for reimbursement. Stipends are not available for courses you may have taken in the past or for courses for which you have already received Financial Aid. Funds approved for tuition reimbursement will not be disbursed until after the course is successfully completed. Applicants must provide proof of passing the course with a grade of C or better, (a grade of C- or below will not be eligible for reimbursement), a copy of the paid tuition bill and a form signed by the after school program director stating that the applicant remains employed by the after school program.
Applicants must meet all criteria described above and have the approval of their program director or board chairperson in support of their taking the course for which they are applying.
The deadline for Spring course tuition reimbursement applications is January 18, 2011.
