Malloy Budget Maintains After School Funding for Two Years
Good news! The budget released by Governor Malloy has flat funded the After School Grant Program at $4.5 million for the next two years.
There will be an Appropriations Hearing on March 1st at 6:30 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building. We are urging after school grantees to testify in supporting maintaining that level of funding.
If you would like to participate in the hearing, please contact Michelle Doucette Cunningham at (860)830-2941 or email her at mdc@ctafterschoolnetwork.org
There will likely be a lottery assigning participants their number in line. Michelle will coordinate the sign up and notify you of your place in line if you contact her. She will also hand in any written testimony for people who aren't able to attend in person.

There are currently a few bills that the Network is tracking in the legislature. We will keep you posted as to the status of any relevant after school legislation in the 2011 session.
