local workshops and training opportunities
The Connecticut After School Network will offer a series of topics via free conference calls throughout 2008 - 2009. All calls take place at noon and run for approximately one hour. If you would like to participate in any of the calls, contact Ken Anthony at kanthony@ctafterschoolnetwork.org to register and get the appropriate call in information. The dates and topics are as follows:
November 3, 2008 - Parent Involvement: Planning for family interaction in your program
December 1, 2008 - Staffing: Models for enrichment programming
January 5, 2009 - Health and Wellness: Tackling obesity through healthy snacks and activities
February 2, 2009 - NAA Accreditation: Professionalizing after school programs (staff qualifications and hiring)
March 2, 2009 - Programming: Best ideas on using stealth learning in your program
April 6, 2009 - Special Needs: Inclusion 101 (staffing, reasonable accommodations and more)
May 4, 2009 - Technology and Collaboration: What resources are in your community to enhance your programs?
