One Voice for After School - Message from the President

Join CSACA and the Connecticut After School Network in celebrating our newly re-designed organization to better meet the needs of the after school field. At the Annual Meeting on June 8, 2006, the CSACA Board of Governors announced a new name, mission and vision for the organization. The newly re-designed organization will be named the Connecticut After School Network.

CSACA was founded in 1989 as a professional organization to meet the needs of those professionals working in the field of school-age child care. Through the years the organization has grown and changed to represent the entire after school field in Connecticut. The new name and mission statement reflect this growth. For the past two years CSACA has served as intermediary for the grant funded Connecticut After School Network project.

Because CSACA shares common goals with the Network project, the CSACA Board decided to re-design the organization so that the new Connecticut After School Network will be speak with one voice for after school.

Our Vision:
Every Connecticut child and youth has the opportunity to participate in high quality, affordable after school programs.

Our Mission:
To lead, educate and advocate for excellence in the after school field by building professionalism, strengthening program quality and increasing availability and affordability.

Although there will be a new name and a new look, members can be assured that they will continue to receive the services they have come to expect and that the organization will maintain it’s affiliation with National AfterSchool Association.
